A Fine Frenzy

A_fine_frenzy A Fine Frenzy, led by lead singer and pianist Alison Sudol, will be playing at Smith's Olde Bar on Wednesday, March 26th. She will be joined by another singer/songwriter/pianist FERRAS. FERRAS's new album, Aliens & Rainbows, will be released April 1st. However, you've probably already heard his first single, "Hollywood's Not America." The song is being used this season on American Idol, when contestants are voted off. A Fine Frenzy's impressive debut album, One Cell In The Sea, is currently available. R.E.M.'s new album

RemIt's official, R.E.M.'s new studio album, Accelerate, will be released April 1st. As they prepare for their upcoming North American tour this summer with Modest Mouse and The National, they will perform at the Langerado Music Festival on March 8th and the South-by-Southwest Music Festival on March 12th. Bodog Battle of the Bands

Monday, March 10th at 6pm come out to Center Stage and support local Atlanta bands at the regional finals for Bodog's Battle of the Bands 2008. This year the competition is more intense then ever with nearly 5,000 bands originally signing up to compete. 2008 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Vh1Presenters for the 2008 Rock and Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony have just been released. The ceremony will be shown live on VH1 on March 10th. In order to be considered for such an honor, 25 years must have passed since the artist's first released recording. Here is a list of this year's honorees and those who will be inducting them.

Lenny Kravitz in Concert

LennyIn case you haven't been able to catch Lenny Kravitz in concert recently, don't worry; he's coming to you! Van Halen's New Date

The Van Halen concert orginally scheduled for February 25th has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 19th at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. New Music

This week a lot of great artists released new albums.
Dolly  Dolly Parton released Backwoods Barbie, her first mainstream country album in 17 years, on her own label Dolly Records. Parton had to reschedule several stops- including Atlanta- on her upcoming tour, in promotion of the album. Those new tour dates should be announced soon.

Janet  Janet Jackson's 10th album release, Discipline, is her first album since joining Island Def Jam Records. The music icon has been on a whirl wind press tour to promote the album, including taking over Times Square earlier this week for a performance on Good Morning America.

Ludo New Artist Ludo also released their debut album, You're Awful, I Love You, with Island Records. The St. Louis rockers are on the road in support of their new album as well as opening for Presidents of the United States of America.
